What are termites? Why do I have them? Are they dangerous?

Eastern subterranean termites are the most common species of termites found in the U.S. and can live up to an average 30 years life-span. Termites feed mostly on cellulose from leaf litter, wood, soil and dung so if any of those conditions are present on your property termite colonies can form. Termites are not dangerous species however they can cause drastic damage to structural foundation of your home.
